The Trip

This series explores the collective imagination through iconic cars and the characters that surround them. Vehicles become cultural symbols, associated with attitudes, lifestyles and instantly recognisable archetypes.

In some works, the car is present as a central icon; in others, it is suggested rather than shown. Figures of hitchhiking women appear as symbols of movement, freedom and expectation, evoking the presence of the vehicle even when it remains outside the frame.

Cristina Guerrero created this series using laser-cut aluminum and acrylic, removing the background so that the figures appear to float within the space. The result is a sculptural wall piece where the image transforms into an object and the icon gains physical presence.

Each piece plays with pop aesthetics, irony and visual memory, reinterpreting familiar symbols through a clean, contemporary visual language. These works are designed to stand out, create a strong visual impact and become a focal point within the space.

Series in development. The series includes works in private collections and others available for purchase upon request.
